Our guide was Katrina Crawley lovely lady who answered all our questions. Now this is where I have to confess my partner and I were incredibly lucky to be the only ones on the tour that day.
To start the tour, we went to the top of a mountain (sorry Katrina forgot the name) for one of the more amazing views I have seen in my life. We went to Black Barn winery, very lovely wines, followed with a choice of visiting Honey factory or olive farm, we choose the honey.
Then to Mission estate again lovely wines, the lunch was great maybe a bit much but with the wines to taste later in the day it was perfect. Then to Crossroads (great wines) and the very lovely lady explained a lot about the growing conditions and was great about answering all are questions.
Then Trinity (lovely wines), because we were running early Katrina suggested a quick trip to Silky Oak Chocolate factory, not that she was trying to be a bad influence on my partner at all….. (wonderful chocolate)
Last winery was Moana Park with afternoon tea which was terrific.
If you are into wines and want to see a bit of Napier well worth doing the tour.
If you get Katrina, just keep an eye on her if you go to the Chocolate factory she could easily sell you a couple of Kilos of Chocolate.
